Student assignment due beginning of class on March 27.
Students must go to only one of the two links below, where they edit a diagram. The diagram will have either retail beef or restaurant tortillas as the main product of interest. Students must then indicate an input into the production of either good, or an input into the input used to produce the good, ..., or an input that is used to produce a series of successive goods, all of which are ultimately used to produce retail beef or restaurant tortillas.
Please remember to put your name in parentheses beside your input so that I give you credit. Do not just lazily use "labor" or "energy", which are generic inputs into everything. I will give more credit to students who do a web search of a product and discover a specific input the ordinary person would not know (like natural gas used to produce nitrogen fertilizer; the actuaries used to design the insurance which is purchased by the elevator storing corn between harvests; or the polyethylene granule resin used to make the plastic bags, which hold the tortillas that are sold to the restaurant). I find YouTube.com videos especially useful for this.
